James Robert Paul ’62

Brother James Robert Paul was a May 6, 1962 initiate of the Beta-Nu Chapter. He was a native of Northern Kentucky. Brother Paul was one of six Brothers of Kappa Sigma who perished in the World Trade Center Towers on September 11, 2001. He was a former Chicago trader and was in a staff meeting for Chicago- based Carr Futures on the 92nd floor of the World Trade Center’s northern tower when the tragic events occurred.

He was a trader for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and also worked for Dean Witter.

He had two passions in life, his family and golf. He was known to play 45 holes in one day. The Paul’s lived in Winnetka, Illinois and were members of the Skokie Golf Club. Some of Brother Paul’s golf buddies have established a memorial for him.

A Memorial for Brothers of Kappa Sigma who were lost in the Towers is established next to the Model Chapter Room of the International Headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia. These Brothers are forever known as Patriots.
