After graduating in ’69 with a business degree, Frank started work as a Budget Analyst for L&N Railroad. He relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 1980 as a result of a merger, where he continued his education, earning an MBA from Jacksonville University in 1989. He also moved through the ranks to Assistant Vice President – Budgeting.
He moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to work for Consolidated Rail Corporation and remained there until the company was bought out byother railroad companies in 1997. He remained in budgeting until becoming the Vice President – Human Resources, then was promoted again to Senior Vice President – Organizational Development. His new post saw him overseeing administrative areas, HR, Budgeting, Information Systems and Corporate Communications.
He returned to Jacksonville where he held the position of Senior Vice President – Human Resources and Labor Relations for CSX Railroad until retiring in 2000.
Frank and Tress have two sons, Casey, who graduated from Saint Josephs and Mitchell, who graduated from Florida.
Brother Nichols, who served as Grand Master in ’68, reflects, “The fraternity was a perfect way to make friendships that lasted thru college and some of my closest friends came from my Beta Nu days. When you’re young friends are everywhere but as you get older and move around as I have done friendships tend to fade. Two of my best friends today are brothers that shared room 201 at 460 Hilltop Ave. While we haven’t lived in the same proximity for 40 years we still have those bonds from our youth and that has meant the world to me over the years. “
